Hello crafty friends, it’s Summer Hills-Painter here. Easter is coming up soon, so I wanted to share with you a cute Easter card for inspiration.
Preparation:
Cut and assemble the head of the bunny from the Bunny die set. Assemble the body but do not attach to the head. Cut leaf circles from the Planner Essentials Iris Shutter Add-on die set in two shades of green cardstock. Using the double leaf die set, cut darker green cardstock. Using the single leaf circle, cut a lighter green cardstock. Cut a circle from the Stitched Circles die from light blue cardstock. Cut a card base from one of the green cardstocks used for the leaves. Cut a circle from the Dotted Scalloped Circles die set. Cut a rectangle from white cardstock using the Stitched Rectangle die set. Cut a rectangle from patterned cardstock from the Fitted Rectangles die set. Cut flowers from the Easter Basket die set out of yellow cardstock and their centers from white cardstock. I used 2 of the three flowers in the set. I have cut them each 7 times. Cut the word Easter from the Planner Essentials 23 die set from the same green cardstock used for the base . Cut and stamp “Happy” on white cardstock using the Sentiments 1 stamp and die set. I like to use the negative from the die cut to create a template that I can use to place the sentiment to assist in lining up the stamp with the die cut. This step can save lots of time if making multiples.
Instructions:
Using a stylus or back of a paint brush, shape the flowers that was cut from yellow cardstock and adhere together. Adhere the white centers to the middle of the flowers.
Using the single leaf die, cut the body of the bunny. This will allow for the perfect edge to line the bunny up in the up coming steps
Adhere the light blue circle to the double leaf circles. The interior leave allow for the circle to be glued easily.
Adhere the single layer leaf die cut to the blue circle. Adhere the bunny body to the light blue cardstock, aligning the edge with the green leaf layer that we just glued down.
Adhere the bunny head to the body.
Adhere the Dotted Scallop circle towards the top of the patterned cardstock layer. At the bottom of the layer, adhere “Easter”
Adhere the leaf layer to the center of the scalloped circle. Also adhere the “happy” sentiment the card layer
To finish off the card, adhere the yellow flowers around the leaf circle. Attach the patterned cardstock layer to the Stitched Fitted Rectangle cardstock layer. Once completed, adhere those layers to the card base.
