Good morning! Diana here with a fun card for you. Fall is finally making an appearance with the cooler weather here in Northern Virginia. Most of my flowers have started to fade but my Gerbera Daisies actually prefer the lower temperature. I love how bold and pretty they are – bigger than my other daisies and definitely more colorful. So when I saw the new Quietfire Design A Way With Words dies I knew I would be combining “be Bold” with the Gerbera Daisies. I also used my (current) new favorite technique for making backgrounds – Distress Oxide inks on coated photo paper.
Hello, fellow crafters! Diana here today to ask that you dream big and to have fun while doing it! Personally I find this hard to do as I like my little comfort zone but I’m hoping to be more daring this year and take some risks. And I know some like-minded folks so I though this card would be a great way to encourage one another. As always, I kept it pretty clean but I think that wood grain background photographed by Els really ties it all together. Read on for the instructions on how to make this encouraging card for someone in your life.
Happy Birthday Card – Two Cards with one Die cut using Washi Tape and Silk Microfine Glitter
August 12, 2017
Hello! Diana here today with not just one but two cards to share with you using just one die. The initial setup takes a bit more time but it makes for two fun and shimmery cards. I chose to use the A Way With Words Happy Birthday die as my focal point. Sometimes you just don’t want to cover up the background too much, right?
Hello, Diana here with another card sure to brighten the day for that garden-lover in your life. My mom has not only a green thumb but her whole hand is green! Seriously, she can stick a stalk in the ground and it will grow. She had many, many kinds of flowers in her garden but dahlias always bring her to mind. I’m pretty sure she would like this card even though I know she prefers live plants! Who would you send it to?
Summer Fun Slider Card with Glittered Beach Ball
July 8, 2017Hello! Diana here with a Summer Fun card I made after the Scrapbook Expo in Chantilly. I had such a great time helping out at the ECD booth with the Silk Microfine Glitter demonstrations that I got some and continued to play with it once I got home. At the Expo, I also picked up the Slider and Spinner die set. Here’s my card combining the two. It’s been a while since I made a slider card and what I love about this die set is that there are four different shape slots you can make for the interactive feature instead of just the usual straight line. The A Way With Words Dies ‘Summer’ and ‘Fun’ dies are the perfect topping for this card.
Be You – Combining Die Cuts and Stencil
June 17, 2017
Hello, it’s Diana and I’m here to share my love of butterflies with you. I never seem to tire of adding butterflies to my cards and fortunately, there are lots of butterfly items to play with from Elizabeth Craft Designs. Today I combined A Way with Words die cuts, stencils, and a new (to me and maybe to you!) technique with liquid pearls. Instead of using embossing paste or distress inks (my go-to items with stencils) I tested some liquid pearls and they work great! Paired with the incomparable Shimmer Sheetz and you have a very bright and sparkly card.
Hello, sweet readers! Diana here again to share a clean and simple card that is perfect for any occasion. The front is a simple greeting to a sweet friend – inside you could write Happy Birthday, Hello, Thank you, or just a note of friendship. Read on to see how I made this card. Though clean in design, a lot of interest is added by use of a veritable rainbow of colors, along with gold and some sparkly rhinestones.
Hello there! Diana here with a soft card for a friend who would love a reminder of what you think of her. You can make her day by telling her she is always amazing! The flowers are made of felt so it even feels nice! I went with different shades of pink but it would look great in other colors. Check to see what you have in your craft room! Read on to see how I made this card.
Nothing says Spring has arrived as much as flowers and butterflies. They are also really easy to combine to make a sweet card! I just got some beautiful new dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs, including the new Dancing Butterflies set. I’ve been on a gray kick lately – it’s such a nice soft neutral color and goes well with a more vibrant color. Today I am pairing it with purple!
Monochromatically Beautiful
March 25, 2017
Hello! I’m excited to show you this dramatic and beautiful card, easy to do by just combining some floral stamps and a bold die. By making it monochromatic, the card is easy to replicate using any of your favorite colors. It’s also a fun and relaxing card to make as multiples since there is coloring involved. My favorite color palette changes daily and as you can see, I felt like reds with a splash of black for my choice the day this one took shape. Read on for more information on how I made this beauty.
