Good morning! Angela here. For my post today I am using the Susan’s Garden Sunflower and Elizabeth Craft Ribbons and Jewels to make a special birthday card for a special friend. To finish it off just right, I added a greeting from from Joset’s Dream Sentiments.
Here’s how I did it:
1- Create a 4 1/4 X 5 1/2 inch tent-fold card base from 100lb White Soft Finish Cardstock.
2- Cut a 4 X 5 1/4 panel from 80lb Soft Finish Cardstock.
3- Use Broken China Distress Oxide Ink on your craft sheet to create the background. Spritz with water to get the mottled effect. Lay the panel onto the ink to pick up the color. Repeat as needed to cover the rectangle as shown above.
4- Adhere the panel to card front using Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape.
5- Cover the back of a 3 x 6 piece of Soft Finish Cardstock with Clear Double Sided Adhesive. From this, use the Ribbons and Jewels die set to cut pieces. Colour the solid pieces, leave the open pieces white. Intertwine the solid pieces through the open pieces and adhere to the panel. Trim excess at the edges.
6- Using the Sunflower 2 die set, cut petal and leaf pieces from White Soft Finish Cardstock. Colour with Copic markers or other colouring medium of choice. Shape the petals and leaves. Assemble the flower. Glue Prills to fill the center.
- Adhere to card panel.
7- Die cut Dandelion Fluff from White Soft Finish Cardstock, colour with Copic markers. Cut into pieces, arrange and glue the pieces around the sunflower, tucking the ends under the petals as shown..
8- Using black ink, stamp a sentiment at the lower right corner of the card front.
9- Adhere the panel to the card base.
