Happy Days

July 13, 2022

Hello friends and welcome back to the Elizabeth Craft Designs Blog. Today, I am sharing a a card using Florals 11 as my flowers for this gorgeous card.

Coloring the florals from the center out this time using Victorian Velvet Distress Ink and setting stamens from Dress my Craft in the center.

I wanted to add some stamped leaves in there and used the Kindness Stamp and Die and stamped out some leaves and the dandelion looking image using peeled paint, die cut them and just left them white, what a great detail and layer they add to this card, don’t you think?

The stitched circle, i backed with acetate and cut the intricate die from The Book out twice, cutting off the outside edges and lining the two die cuts up to fill the circle which worked perfectly.

I decided i wanted even more detail and used the vine from the Strawberry set, colored with with Peeled paint Distress ink and i gave the tip a bit of shaping.
Once i was all done, i decided to tone the color down a bit by using a bit of snow paste and white acrylic splatters.

Thank you for dropping by today, I hope i have inspired you to create some florals. Until Next Time, Happy Scrapping!

See-through Flower frame

July 12, 2022

Hello everyone, Irina here with a flower project today! I started working with the awesome shadow box frames in combination with acetate, stencils and paper flowers. I think acetate is so great to use. Enjoy reading.

Start with the small shadow box frame. Trim them at 5 inch (or the size you prefer).

Glue them together.

Trim the acetate at 5 x 5 inch (or take the size of your frame)

Put some structure paste on the acetate with a stencil.

Glue the acetate behind your frame with tape.

Die cut some flowers and branches and color them. I have used distress ink.

Glue the paper flowers together.

Arrange them on the frame.

Maybe you want to add a sentiment. I didn’t add a sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by the blog. Untill next time.

Christmas In July Bouquet

July 8, 2022

Hi, Marla here today, with a Christmas in July card. Can you believe we have already moved into July? Why not start the month out with a little Christmas inspiration? I know you’re what you’re thinking, “I can’t begin to think about that right now. I’m enjoying my summer.” We aren’t going to get frosty just yet. Let’s hit the hot house instead and build a Christmas floral bouquet. Here’s how my card was created.

1. Die cut your ECD “Flower Pot/Pail” from white cardstock and add ink. Add foam tape to the back.

2. Die cut two ECD “Berry Branches” from white cardstock and add ink. Then add wet glue to the top of each berry and add Prills. Set aside to dry.

3. Die cut the several of the smallest flower from ECD “Florals 14.” Add ink in desired color on both the front and back sides. Spritz with water and pinch the ends of each petal toward the center. Add Prills to the center with wet glue.

4. Die but two branches from white cardstock using ECD “Leaves 1.” Coat with Versmark Ink and add gold embossing powder, then heat set.

5. Die cut three pine branches, using white cardstock from ECD “Leaves & Branches” and add ink.

6. Add a 4.25 x 5.25 piece of patterned paper to an A2 top folding card base. Add decorative trim 2/3’s way down behind where flowerpot will be placed.

7. Adhere your flowerpot. Using the slit at the top begin to arrange the bouquet in the flowerpot.

8. Cut a small circle three times and glue together to create a chipboard circle. Stamp a holiday greeting in the center then add it to the center of your flowerpot. Tie a bow from thin ribbon and adhere to the top of your sentiment circle.

That completes my card for today. Thank you for joining me. Until next time…. Marla

‘smell the flowers’

June 22, 2022

Hello everyone, Jackie here with today’s post.

I just want to say what an amazing design team we have here at Elizabeth Crafts Designs, I am constantly blown away by the talent of my fellow teamies. My post today has been inspired by the beautiful work from Tina Guigui Dornbaum and you can find the inspirational design here: Sending Hugs & Kisses Mini Slimline Card – Elizabeth Craft Designs.

Step One:

Attach a small light blue piece of scrap card to the top half of a top folding A2 card blank. Die cut a stitched rectangle panel slightly smaller than die cut a small circle in the top centre using a small circular die.

Step Two:

Die cut the daffodil’s into a pale yellow and green cardstock then ink around the edges to add some definition.

Step Three:

Attach the stitched panel to the card front using 3d foam pads. Fix the daffodils on top starting with the stems.

Step Four:

Stamp out the sentiment on black card using embossing ink then sprinkle with white embossing powder and set with a heat tool. Fix across the stems using more 3d foam pads then add a few clear gems to finish.

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope both Tina and myself have inspired you to give this these beautiful daffodils cards a go.

Happy crafting – Jackie x

Shaker Bookbox

June 16, 2022

Hi Everyone, Irina here! Today it is my turn to write a blog. I love shaker cards, so I decided to create a shaker part on the bookbox. I only used black and white, but I think it is very beautiful in different colors!

Let’s start!

Die cut 2 covers from the bookbox out of cardstock.

Cut one of them as in the picture below (step 1) and also cut off the lock.

– Diecut the rectangle out of that part. ( step 2 in picture above)

– Put acetate behind.

– Add double sided foamtape on the back (step 3 in picture)

– Take your other cover and put some shaker material on it ( step 4 in picture)

– Glue the part with the acetate window on it

Now make the inside part of the bookbox as usual.

Make some paperflowers and glue them around the acetate window.

Now your shaker bookbox is finished! I hope you like it. Thanks for stopping by the blog. Until next time!

Hello Sunshine –

June 15, 2022

Hello Friends and thank you for dropping in. Today I am sharing a card with you. This is designed using Florals 6, along with the Stitched Indented Rectangles and a couple new stencils on the background.

I started by cutting out three of each of the floral sizes from florals 6 onto the soft finish cardstock. I also cut out five of the leaves.

The Florals
I also cut out 3 of small florals from Florals 16. I colored the Florals 6 using Saltwater Taffy Distress Ink, and the Florals 16 using scattered straw. I then shaped the Florals 6 forming three peonies. The small florals 16 i just inserted a wired stamen.

The Background
I wanted to use the new stencils and started  by stamping CS146 Background Stamp with Black Archival Ink, I also used CS253 Note Pieces ( the smaller graph stamp) Once I stamped the images, I used the S044 Planner Stencils 1 and I used Light Texture Paste. I then used the Number Stencil and used a blending tool using Saltwater Taffy on the background creating a tone on tone color. I then splatter some white acrylic ink and gold paint

I cut some stitched indented rectangles and only used strips of them to add some layers, what a great way to add layers, without all the bulk of a full layer.

I used peach threaded pollens  in the center of the peonies and thought they blend so beautifully with the colors in the pattern paper.

I hope you have enjoyed my project today. Until Next Time.

Happy Scrapping,

Karan

Under The Sea

June 2, 2022

It’s me again, Els. It is already June and that means a new Month with new inspiration. This time I made a sea style card and below you will find the step by step instructions. I hope you have as much fun as I did making this card. Have fun creating!

Cut out the dies of white cardstock and the upper layers from silver cardstock. I didn’t used the fish and the binoculars.

Color the white cut-outs with Ink and glue the silver cardstock on top of them.

Cut a piece of white cardstock of 4″ x 8″ for a the card base and make a 21/4 inch hole in the center.

Glue the porthole over the hole on top the octopus with the helmet and below the shell and starfish.

Glue acetate behind the hole.

Put some rust paste on the porthole and the helmet and place some glossy accent drops on the acetate. Stamp some bubbles.

Put some glossy accent on the bubbles too and glue some prills down.

Stamp 2 Jellyfish on a light blue paper and stick it behind the porthole.

Take a piece of White Cardstock 41/4″ x 81/4″ and make a light construction where the Jelly fish are coming.

Then place the card back and adhere 3D foam behind that so the light has space enough.

Cut a fern and 5 flowers out of white cardstock and color them with Green and Blue ink, then shape them and put a blue stamen in the center hole.

Place the flowers as shown on the photo and then your card is finished! I hope you like the card and that you give it a try!

Cardmaking Paper Flowers Paper flowers Soft Finish Cardstock

Happy Birthday

May 18, 2022

Good Morning Friends today i have a card to share with you designed using the Volume 4 Florals Release using Florals 15.

Cutting the florals out using Soft finished cardstock, i colored them with saltwater Taffy Distress ink and the leaves with Peeled Paint

Shaping them using my shaping mat, i added some stamens to the center.  Then lightly added some snow paste on top to add more detail.

To create the dress i took a 5.75 x 12 inch piece of patterned paper and scored every 1/2 inch. Making sure to fold so that the ends were able to be folded inward. I free hand drew the top of the dress to create a tank style top and wrapped gold thread and colored seam binding to coordinate with the card.

Thank you for dropping by today, I hope i have inspired you to create some dress cards of your own.

Cockatoo Fun

May 11, 2022

Hello everyone.. It’s my turn on the blog today with this fun hanging frame decoration featuring three cute fun loving cockatoos. The frame is made to look like bamboo, now I know that bamboo is not really square but anything goes in papercraft right!

Step One.

Die cut the smallest frame part four times into buff coloured card then use the watercolour paints to make the frame pieces resemble bamboo, a very small thin paint brush will make this easier.

Step Two

Pierce four holes into what will become the top most part of the frame, you will only need to do this on one part, make a re-enforcer for each hole to add some stability. See photo for approximate hole placement.

Step Three

Roll up a piece of card approximately 5cm long, you can use a straw or pen to help make the card roll. Once rolled nice and tightly fix with glue then use the watercolour paints again to create a wood effect, then use a pointed tool to puncture a hole though the wooden batten at each end.

Step four

Next die cut and build all the parrots and flowers using the photo for colour reference, the parrot is coloured using a pale pink Spun Sugar distress ink and his feet are coloured a with a light grey Hickory Smoke, colour the eye with black ink then add a tiny white dot in the centre.

Step five

Attach the wooden swing post, feed the thread through the holes and knot. Then start arranging the leaves and flowers in two corners.

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is wood-984x1024.jpg

Step Six

Add the parrots to finish.

Thank you for stopping by today, I hope I have inspired you to have a play with these brilliant new frame dies.

Until next time – Happy crafting Jackie
