Good morning!
The holiday season is upon us and I am excited!
To share my Christmas spirit I created a Christmas layout of my husband and our oldest boy.

To create this layout:
Step 1 – Cover your paper with clear gesso (allow to dry or heat set) then use your favorite ECD stencil ( I used the dot dot dot stencil)and texture paste on the left hand side of the paper – I used a paper from the worn wood paper pack
Step 2 – using the splatter technique splatter your coordinating colors on the paper over your stenciled image
using your scissors cut three small indents on your paper then distress all your edges
Step 3 – using coordinating colorants color the lace and allow to dry. Using your double sided tape adhere the lace to the indents that you cut earlier.
Step 4 – color a large circular frame and a title with white gesso and allow to dry. Once dry use Snowflake paste on both pieces and allow to dry

Step 5 – die cut 11 poinsettias and 5 of just the smallest, some leaves and 3 large and 3 small pine cones from the Christmas Accents die set. Ink the edges of all pieces and assemble. Once assembled add snowflake paste to each piece and allow to dry.

Step 6 – die cut as many stems & branches from the Create a Wreath as you want, ink the edges, add the pearl rose craft drops to the berry part of the branches and add snowflake paste and allow to dry

Step 7 – Mat your photo and assemble as shown
Step 8 – add some seed beads, gems or art stones

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Fantasy Flowers

Christmas is on its way

November 9, 2020

Hello everyone, my name is Joyce Schmidt design team member for Elizabeth Craft Designs. I was putting away the black, orange and purple of the Halloween season and was playing around with the Fantasy Florals in preparation for Christmas.  I found this Grapevine wreath in my stash and decided it needed Poinsettias made from the Floral #2 (1774).

First, I wanted the wreath to look snowy. I painted a mixture of glue and acrylic paint onto the wreath so I could stick the chunky shimmery glitter. After painting it I sprinkled the glitter, I let it sit to dry.

I die cut all four of the shapes from the Floral #2 from red cardstock, and one set of each from green cardstock. Since poinsettias are not really a flower, rather a bunch of leaves, I only used the flower die not the leaves from this set. I used the larger of the 4 dies to act as my leaves.

I shaped the flowers on my foam mat with the back of my Elizabeth Craft Designs tweezers. Just for added dimension I distressed the edges of the petals.

After layering  the flowers together slightly off set using my Kid’s Choice glue, I inserted gold stamens in the middle.  Using hot glue, I placed the flowers onto the wreath. At this point it looked a little bare.

I got out my Trio of Leaves die (1464) and die cut some of these in green cardstock. I was the perfect touch to “fill in the holes”.

I hope you will try this project. It is very easy and can be adapted to use with any of the Elizabeth Craft Designs florals, for any season.

Feel free to watch our process video on this project HERE.

Thank you and I hope you have a great week.

All about Flowers

September 13, 2020

Hello everyone,

Welcome to our Monthly Designers challenge! This month’s theme is all about flowers. We asked our designer to create some beautiful projects using our new Paper Flowers dies or any of our other “Floral” themed stamps. Our designers did a great job and I can’t wait to show to their beautiful work!

First project is from Annette Green who created this beautiful little box using the new Pizza Box die and the Florals 4. Love the beautiful Fall colors she picked for the flowers and leaves. For the box itself Annette used the Worn Wood paper pack. Make sure to check out Annette’s blog HERE for more info.

EK Gorman created this beautiful flower card using a collection of flowers stamps. She used the “A Field of Flowers” set and the “Patterns 1”. Love the brown and yellow color combination. For more info on how to create this card, check out EK’s Blog HERE.

Joyce Schmidt created a beautiful frame using the Florals 1 die set in combination with the Elegant Ornament die. Love these 2 together. She also used the Berry Branch and cut this one up in small pieces to decorate the flower arrangement. Joyce often shows her work in videos and on her Facebook page. Make sure to check it out HERE.

Anita Izendoor, the designer of the Paper Flower Collection joined us this month with a beautiful floral slimline card. Just like Joyce, she decided to combine the Elegant Ornament die with the Florals 1 set. Such a beautiful combination. For the background she used the Worn Wood paper pack. To see more of Anita’s beautiful work, make sure to check out her Blog HERE.

We’re so happy to have some Strawberries dies back in our collection, this time just a little bit smaller than our previous release set. Tina Guigui created this lovely slimline card. She colored the strawberries so pretty they almost look real. The “let love bloom” (Zen Sentiments set) is a perfect choice for this card. If you would like to re-create this card, make sure to check out Tina’s Blog HERE

Next card is from Sandy Diller who used the Color my Flowers clear stamp set in combination with the new Floral Birst Background die by Joset Designs. I love how she used the background die here as the front of the card. For the sentiment she used the Build Your Own Sentiments 1. For more info on how to create this beautiful card, make sure to check out Sandy’s blog HERE.

Joseph Nguyen joined us this month with this beautiful flower arrangement using a combination of dies. Joseph used the Florals 4 and colored the petals centers very lightly in blue. He followed this color scheme with a beautiful patterned background and some small blue embellishments on the berries (Berry Branch). Some extra leaves completed his card. For more inspiration, make sure to follow Joseph’s Facebook page HERE.

Katelyn Grosart created this stunning wreath using the Florals 2 and Stamen Flowers die sets. She used White Soft Finish Cardstock to cut her flowers and leaves and colored them using Distress Inks. Love the pastel colors she picked. For more info on how to create the flowers, check out Katelyn’s Blog HERE.

Last project is this cute card created by Karen Ostergard showing you how fun it is to use the flower dies as embellishments. She created a Hoppy Birthday card using the oh so cute Frog die set. For more info on how to create this card, check out Karen’s Blog post HERE.

Autumn is in the Air

August 31, 2020

Hello everyone, this is Joyce Schmidt, design team member with Elizabeth Craft Designs. I am bringing you Autumn wishes today so that you may begin to brush off the hot summer and start looking forward to the Pumpkin Spice Latte, and holidays to come. Join me today to make this fun card for Autumn using the new Fantasy Floral line coming very soon!

I decided to do a slimline card today. The size of the card measures 81/2 X 31/2 inches. I used the Elizabeth Craft Design soft finish cardstock 110lb to create the card base because I am using it as the base layer for my stencil. I used the rocks stencil (S038) and just used a little distress ink ad a blending brush, it was perfect for this card.

I used the soft finish card stock to die cut Elegant Ornament die (1780). Using the ink to paper transfer technique, I colored the paper brown. I then roughly applied gold embossing powder to certain areas, and heat embossed the powder. It gives it an antique finish as if it was metal.

I die cut leaves from all 3 of the floral sets 1,2,3 and just inked them with browns, oranges, and a dash of green to give it a fall look.

Next, I used my Elizabeth Craft Designs tweezers to add a little shape to the leaves so they would easily take on a realistic look.

To wrap it all up I die cut the Word “Autumn” from the 4 Seasons Set (1199) and used gold foil paper with Double sided adhesive on the back and it finished the inspiration perfectly!

I hope you will try this easy fun autumn card using the leaves from the Fantasy Floral set from Elizabeth Craft Designs. I was fun and easy to make as well as inspiring for the Fall Season. Thank you for joining me today and Happy Crafting!
