Bold And Bright Save The Date Card

September 23, 2019

Hi friends! It’s EK, and today I am popping in to share a bold and bright ‘save the date’ invitation design.

So often I see an invitation or save the date cards and they are often created with pale or pastel tones and so serious. I thought it might be really fun to create a bold, bright, and fun ‘save the date’ card. And since I am using the ModaScrap Wedding Sentiments stamp set, creating this card will be so simple.

Step One: Trim a piece of 110lb Soft Finish Cardstock to 4.25×8.5 and score and fold to create a A2 card.

Step Two: Using the smallest circles from the Dashing Circles die set, die cut a series of circles out of bright colored Soft Finish Cardstock. I used Ladybug Red, Bright Orange, Sky Blue, Spring Green, and Perfect Purple Soft Finish Cardstock.

Step Three: Create a frame for the card using two dies from the Dashing Rectangles die set. I used some Rich Black Soft Finish Cardstock for my frame.

Step Four: Using the Wedding Sentiments stamp set, stamp images and a sentiment onto your die cut circles using some black ink.

Step Five: Adhere the black die cut frame to the card using some 3mm Double Sided Adhesive.

Step Six: Adhere the die cut circles onto the card frame, letting some of the circles dangle off the edge. Trim the bits hanging off the card so the circles become flush with the edge of the card.

Step Seven: Add some decorative drops to the card frame using a liquid drops. Did you see that ECD just add a brand new line of Craft Drops to their store? There are six new colors and I am so excited to play with these new craft drops!

I hope you got a kick seeing how I created this bold and bright save the date card. What I like about this design is I can change the stamp set and create a whole new card. Need a birthday card, this design will work. Need an anniversary card, this design could also work. And of course this fun, bright, bold design will be perfect for an anytime card!

Let us know in the comments below what your favorite color pallet is. Do you like bold and bright, pale or pastel, dark, jewel toned? Let us know because we are curious to hear!

For my tutorial today I have another Christmas card to share using a couple of the Krista Schneider stamp sets. (This is a fun card for last minute mailing, you could get a head start on next year’s cards, or simply skip the “Merry Christmas” sentiment and the card is suitable all through the winter…)

Ho Ho Ho Santa Snow Scene

November 12, 2018

Hi Crafty Friends,

It’s Frances Byrne here today with another Christmas card tutorial to share with you. I have been having fun this year creating a lot of snowy Christmas scenes using Distress Oxide inks to create my skies. Christmas where I live down here in Australia is in summer, so we enjoy a hot Christmas Day with cold lunches and probably swimming in a pool. As we don’t experience snow, it is fun to create snowy scenes on paper instead.

Classic Poinsettia Christmas Card

October 10, 2018

Hi All! It’s Elena today and I am a bit of a Christmas fanatic. When I was a child, my parents always had poinsettias around during the holiday season and I think that’s why I always love poinsettia stamps and have amassed quite a collection. This new Poinsettia Clear Stamp set from Krista Schneider is among my favorites because it has everything you need to create a lovely floral arrangement for a classic poinsettia Christmas card. I grabbed my alcohol markers to color this version, but the coloring possibilities are endless with this set. Here’s how I made the card: Continue Reading

Miss You

July 16, 2018

Hello Welcome! Samantha here sharing a card I created using two of my favourite Elizabeth Craft Designs dies. One of the things I love about dies is how easy and simple they are to work with. I had originally planned to colour the leaves in, but after colouring one in with Copic Markers I realised that it would take quite a decent amount of time and that I could achieve an equally striking and bright look by using some scrap left over pieces of cardstock that I have in my stash. A Way With Words

Planner Books

June 30, 2018

 by Judi Kauffman

Planning a wedding or other big event? Need to keep track of invitations sent and RSVPs received, the menu and other aspects of the special event? Give some inexpensive composition books a facelift and you can do it in style!

To customize the books for use as a journal instead of a planner, incorporate the word ‘Courage’ or ‘Memories’ or ‘Faith’ or ‘Make a Wish’ instead. And ‘Special Day’ remains a good choice for journals as well as planner books. Suzanne Cannon’s A Way With Words collection has so many wonderful options.
