Hello, Crafty Friends!
It’s Jacky here today. I’m happy to share this project with you using brand new dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs. I chose a mix of oval dies from the Stitched Ovals, Beaded Oval Frames, and Dotted Scallop Ovals die sets, as well as the new Ladybugs from Joset Designs and the previously-released Leafy Branch.
Instructions:
Step 1: Die cut two Stitched Ovals from Spring Green Soft Finish Cardstock using the largest and the third largest dies in the set.
Step 2: Die cut two Dotted Scallop Ovals from White Soft Finish Cardstock using the largest and the third largest dies in the set.
Step 3: Die cut two Beaded Oval Frames from Perfect Pink Soft Finish Cardstock backed with Clear Double Sided Adhesive sheet before cutting. Use 2 of the 3 dies from the set: largest and medium size.
Step 4: For the Ladybugs: Cut two solid bodies from Rich Black Soft Finish Cardstock. Back a piece of Perfect Pink Soft Finish Cardstock with Clear Double Sided Adhesive sheet and die cut two of the ladybug overlays. Add an overlay to each body to complete the ladybugs.
Step 5: Die cut one Leafy Branch from White Soft Finish Cardstock. Using an ink applicator tool to apply the inks and create a subtly blended effect, color the branch with Mowed Lawn and Mustard Seed Distress Inks.
Step 6: For the sentiment, cut a 2 3/8″ x 1 1/4″rectangle from Spring Green Soft Finish Cardstock and a 2 1/8″ x 1″ rectangle from White Soft Finish Cardstock. Use black ink to stamp ‘You’re so sweet” onto the white rectangle. Center and adhere stamped rectangle onto Spring Green rectangle.
Step 7: Assemble cards – Adhere larger white Dotted Scallop Oval to larger green Stitched Oval. Adhere smaller white Dotted Scallop Oval to smaller green Stitched Oval. Add sentiment and smaller Beaded Oval Frame to the smaller of the two layered ovals. Add Leafy Branch, Ladybugs and larger Beaded Oval Frame to the larger layered oval. Optional: Use 3D tape to add dimension to the ladybugs and/or the sentiment.
Step 8: Die cut a black cardstock Card Stand/Easel for each oval. Display ovals side by side as shown. Other options: Adhere the ovals back-to-back and display as a 2-sided card on a single easel. Or punch a hole at the top and hang from ribbon as a pair of ornaments or as one 2-sided ornament.
I hope you enjoy this project and decide to make your own oval cards using your favorite combination of Elizabeth Craft Designs oval die sets!
