Spring Notebook

February 28, 2018

Hi crafters!!

It’s Sara here, and I have a new project for you: a colorful floral notebook.

Step 1: Cut a piece of Soft Finish Cardstock (white used here, but choose any color you like) at 7 1/2 inches x 5 1/2 inches (14cm x 19cm). Score and fold at the centre point.

  • Cut 10 square sheets at 5 inches x 7 inches (12.5cm x 17.5cm). Score all these pages at the centre point.

  • Stamp the Floral Background on a piece of Kraft brown cardstock and cut it at 7 1/4 inches x 3 1/2 inches (9 cm x 13.5 cm) to make the cover of the notebook.

Step 2: Layer all the pages and cover together. On the fold line punch a hole every 1/4” (1 cm) as shown below and prepare three long threads and a needle.

Step 3: Make a knot at the end of the threads and sew in and out, beginning from the inside of the cover.

This is the result you should obtain. (front cover shown below)

(inside of notebook shown below)

Step 4 : Now to work on the cover, color all the flowers as you like, cut the upper and lower right corners with a corner punch and add it to the front of your notebook. Cut a piece of purple cardstock  the same size as the decorated Kraft cardstock front panel – 7 1/4 inches x 3 1/2 inches (9 cm x 13.5 cm), and a piece of the cardstock you have used for the base of the notebook that is 1 inch x 2 inch (2.5 cm x 5cm).

Step 5 : Round the corners of the small piece of cardstock and add a button as an embellishment. Use hot glue to adhere a Velcro circle, one side to the cover and the other to the flap.

Adhere the other end of the flap to the back of the book and cover it with the purple cardstock piece.

Step 6: Add any embellishments you like, along with white gel pen dots. Have fun creating your own notebook and make them for people you love!

Hope you like it!
