Hi, It’s Kelly Booth here today with a fun project for treats at Christmas for friends and family. I need to start early on projects as Christmas seems to creep up really fast…
You will need the following Elizabeth Craft Designs Supplies
Step 1 – Using two sheets of red cardstock, cut two of the Pillow Box with Handle. Put some white acrylic paint onto a non-stick craft sheet and add a little water to make the paint thinner. Load a paintbrush and flick the brush, tapping the handle end of the brush with your fingers to create a snowy effect. Set aside to dry.
Step 2 – Stamp and color the Owl and Fox from the Winter Friends stamp set, then die cut the images using the coordinating dies.
Step 3 – Die cut two white Ho Ho Ho’s using the new A Way With Words – Flourished Christmas Minis die set and set aside for later.
Step 4 – Take the third smallest circle from Susan’s Garden Frame It – Stitched Circles, place it on the pillow box on the side with the notches, secure with temporary tape and run through our die cutting machine cutting a window. Next cut a piece of transparency large enough to cover the window, using little dots of glue on the back of the window opening glue the acetate on. See photo below for the steps.
Step 5 – Fold the pillow box on the score lines, using liquid glue adhere the handles on the inside. Fold the ends in the back one first and then the front so the notch is on the front side and can be easily opened. Glue the white Ho Ho Ho on the front of the acetate by using little dots of liquid glue. Fill with items of your choice and using some pop dots or glue ad here the Owl and The Christmas Fox to the right side of the Pillow Box.
Step 6 – To finish off, tie with the handle with ribbon and twine as shown.
Your treat holders are now finished. I hope you enjoyed today’s tutorial. As always, thank you for stopping by the Elizabeth Craft Designs Blog!
