Special Moments Wall Hanging

June 5, 2021

Hey Crafters! Katelyn here, sharing with you my Special Moments Wall Hanging.

To create my wall hanging, I’ve used a variety of dies from Suzanne Cannon and Joset Designs. You’ll want to read below as I share with you how to recreate my wall hanging at home.

Step One. Get a heavy piece of cardstock, cardboard or a print you no longer want to use and die cut a 4 1/2″ Stitched Rounded Rectangle out of it. Ink the edges of the rectangle using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Two. Choose five pieces of coordinating patterned paper out of the Reminiscence the Book. From the first patterned paper, die cut a 4 1/2″ Stitched Rounded Rectangle. Ink the edges of the rectangle using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Three. You’ll need another two of the patterned papers. Die cut a 4″ Stitched Rounded Rectangle out of the second piece of patterned paper. Die cut a 3 1/2″ Stitched Rounded Rectangle out of the third piece of patterned paper. Ink the edges of both rectangles using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Four. Now you’ll need the remaining two pieces of patterned paper. Die cut a 4 1/4″ Fitted Rounded Rectangle out of the fourth piece of patterned paper. Die cut a 3 3/4″ Fitted Rounded Rectangle out of the last patterned paper. Ink the edges of both rectangles using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Five. Die cut the Flourished Frame out of a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock.

Step Six. Choose a sixth piece of patterned paper out of the Reminiscence the Book. Die cut the large butterfly flourished from the Butterfly Flourish die out of the patterned paper. Die cut the small butterfly twice from the Butterfly Flourish die out of White Soft Finish Cardstock.

Step Seven. Die cut the Special and Moments words from the Special Moments Die out of kraft cardstock. Die cut the words a second time this time out of black cardstock.

Step Eight. Adhere the 4 1/2″ rectangle to the 4 1/2″ heavy cardstock piece. Adhere the 4 1/4″ rectangle to the 4 1/2″ rectangle. Adhere the 4″ rectangle to the 4 1/4″ rectangle.

Step Nine. Adhere the flourish frame to the 4″ rectangle.

Step Ten. Adhere the 3 1/2″ rectangle to the 3 3/4″ rectangle. Foam square the 3 3/4″ rectangle to the 4″ rectangle.

Step Eleven. Foam square the large butterfly flourish to the middle of the 3 1/2″ rectangle. Adhere the two butterflies around the large butterfly flourish as desired.

Step Twelve. Adhere the kraft cardstock special word to the black cardstock special word, making sure that you get a bit of shadowing. Adhere the kraft cardstock moments word to the black cardstock moments word, making sure that you get a bit of shadowing. Adhere the words overtop of the large butterfly flourish as desired.

Step Thirteen. To finish the wall hanging, punch two holes at the top. Tie a piece of white twine through both holes to create the wall hanging.

Thanks for joining me today! I hope that I’ve inspired you to create your own version of my Special Moments Wall Hanging.
