Welcome a Bears Christmas!

November 24, 2023

Hi everyone, Katie here with todays inspirational post! I wanted to share a cute card I made using Oli the Bear from Joset’s new Collection “The Great Outdoors”. I have so many ideas for this sweet little bear so I started with a Christmas Card. So grab a coffee and lets begin.

Step 1: Using your favorite cardstock cut out your bear bits (I used two shades of brown) then ink your edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.

Step 2: Stamp your word image, I used “Wishing you a Beary Merry Christmas” from the Bear, Moose, Beaver stamp set.

Step 3: Out of your favorite cardstock cut out your pinecone, evergreen boughs and red berries, ink and assemble.

I am so in love with this new die set, the detail as you can see above is amazing.

Step 4: Cut the base for your card, I used 110lb cardstock in kraft, Next, I cut a back ground paper from a blue plaid designer paper and ran it through a 3D embossing folder. (hard to see the image, but its pine boughs). Then I took another designer paper and cut out a oval mat for my card.

Step 5: Start assembling your card by adding your designer paper and oval to your card base. Next, add your pine boughs and pine cones, I used pop-dots for the Oli and the “Beary Merry Christmas” . I added red berries.

Step 6: I added glossy accents to Oli’s Nose and berries.

Step 7: I added Bear Paw Prints to the inside of the card. Final step I speckled the pinecones and pine boughs.

I hope you enjoyed todays inspiration, see my Facebook page @Katie Porcina to see other Christmas Card inspirations. Take Care and Happy Creating.

Best Wishes Cards

November 23, 2023

Hello, my dear friends!!

Rajni Chawla, here from Timeless Creations. Today, I bring you 2 beautiful, bright, and cheerful Best Wishes cards to inspire you using Elizabeth Craft Designs floral dies. My hope for you is not only to inspire you with ECD floral dies but also that it bring you a little something more: happy vibes when you transform pieces of paper into impressive works of art for yourself or loved ones. Handmade paper flowers make just about any heart smile…and that- is the best gift of all! Isn’t it?

For the past few days, I really wanted to try my hands on a wooden background for my flowers. I was so sure that the bright colors of flowers would surely pop on the wooden background. I grabbed the new embossing folder and textured and inked a few papers. The result was so satisfying that once again could not resist and resulted in two cards for the day.

For the first card, I am focusing on Florals 5. I made some cuts on the edges of the petals to give the flower a different look. The foliage is from Floral Greenery-1 and Floral Foliage-1 . As usual, all the floral and foliage inking is done using Archival inks.

Here is the look of the card if viewed from the top. The sentiment Best Wishes comes from the Everyday Words 2 Die set and the label is cut using Layered Labels 1. The tiny mini filler flowers are from Floral Greenery 1.

Here is the second card for the day!! It’s a slimline card that I created using a Stitched Indented Rectangle Die set. Florals are created using Floral 26 and Florals 4. Foliage is from Floral 6.

Here is the look of the card if viewed from the top. The sentiment Best Wishes comes from the Everyday Words 2 Die set and the label is cut using Layered Labels 1. The tiny mini filler flowers are from Floral Greenery 1.

All the supplies used from Elizabeth Craft Designs are linked to the company’s website for easy access.

Hope you liked my projects. I‘m always happy to hear from you. It is a joy to read your comments and I’m grateful to you all. Thank you for spending your precious time here. For more inspiration, you can follow me on Facebook, InstagramYouTube, and, Pinterest.

In a Spin!

November 20, 2023

Hello everyone, today I have used the new Jack the Beaver die set and made him into Hugo the Hamster. Todays design is an interactive spinner card, there is a lot of steps for this design so lets get started.

Step One:

Cover the whole front of an A2 (US) 5.5×4.25″ or Europe 14x11cm card blank using the beautiful patterned paper pad Beautiful Bights. Die cut a stitched rectangle panel that measures slightly smaller than the card front then set these aside for now.

Step Two:

Next is to create the spinning mechanism. First search your stash to find two circular dies one slightly smaller than the other by approximately 2mm – not to tight as the mechanism will not spin and not too loose as the mechanism will wobble.

Use the larger circular die to cut a hole in the prepared rectangular panel in step one, die cut the hole just above the centre point. Die cut the smaller circular die enough times that when all glued together measures 5mm then glue these to a larger circle any size.

Step Three:

Add 3d foam squares to the reverse side of the prepared panel, lay the circular mechanism on top of the card blank then fix the panel over the top.

Step Four:

Next use the dies from the Shaker set 2065 to create a hamster wheel. Trim an extra two thin strips by hand then die cut the pieces as shown in the photo then glue them all together. Fussy cut into the base part using the wheel as a guide.

Step Five:

Glue the wheel to the card front but only glue the centre of the cross bar to the circular mechanism as it needs to be free to spin. Glue the base part to the card front so that it sits just underneath the spinning wheel.

Step Six:

Die cut and build the hamster. I have shown how I have inked this design however you can use which ever colours you prefer. Once built carefully glue him to the wheel at the centre bar and hands and feet.

Step Seven:

Add your sentiment. I have chosen to use the Everyday Words die set 2020 to create Oh Happy day. I have used the Happy as normal then trimmed the day from birthday and also trimmed the O from notes and h from birthday to make Oh. Then I finished off with a few stars.

Unfortunately I can not show you him spinning here but if you pop over to the Elizabeth Craft Family group on face book then you can see him spinning. I hope you have enjoyed todays card I really hope to see a few new spinning critters over on the family group! Happy crafting – Jackie xx

Cardmaking Joset Designs Planner Essentials

December delivery

November 15, 2023

Hii everyone, how are you doing? It’s blog time for me today. I’m busy with the Christmas cards and projects. Today I share this card with you which I made with the postage stamp dies from the Planner Essentials.

I started with the base so I used the postage stamp dies (Planner Essentials). It is green paper from one of the Reminiscene books and sand looking paper from Reminiscene the book 6. I inked all the edges with Distress Ink Frayed Burlap.

As you can see I used some small dies from Joset’s collections to fill the rectangles. Some parts I coloured by myself with Distress Ink and for some parts I used designpaper like the Holly Jolly Christmas and the Christmas Lives Here.

I also did some stamping, some are light at the background. You can do that to do the first stamp at another sheet and then making the stamp at your papier. Some stamps are directly stamped at the paper.

I hope you got some ideas to make cute Christmas cards. And as you can see at the picture a little bit above you can also use some pieces of this whole card.

Thank you for visiting and see you next time!

Kind regards Lisanne Geerdink

Sweater Season card

November 13, 2023

Hello crafty friends, it’s Summer Hills-Painter here. For today’s blog post, I made another Christmas card in anticipation of the upcoming holiday.

Preparation:

Cut and assemble the Sweater Season die set. I used the new Holly Jolly Christmas paper pack and cut the third largest stitched rectangle from green patterned cardstock. Cut the second largest rectangle from the Indented Stitched Rectangles die from red cardstock. Cut, score, and fold an A2 card base.

Instructions

Use the “Merry Christmas” sentiment from the Holiday Treats stamp set, stamp onto the rectangle patterned cardstock. For mine, I inked the edges with Bundled Sage and Frayed Burlap distress ink.

Layer the rectangle onto the indented rectangle piece and adhere to the card base. For mine, I inked the edges of the red cardstock layer and card base with Frayed Burlap Distress ink.

I then adhered the sweater die cut to the card using foam adhesive to complete the card.
