Bzzz…. busy

July 31, 2023

Hi everyone! it is Thursday again so Sylvia is here for you on the blog. Have you seen the latest release from Joset, Bugs & Butterflies? It is a really fun release with lots of insects and an additional stampset as well. I made this fun card with it, so let’s grab your supplies and get started.

First: using white cardstock diecut the full page of PE 46 (day by day) set no 1913 and cut it straight in the middle. I used the bottom half that has the 9 windows and saved the other half for an other project.

Step 2 Diecut the corresponding mats (also in the same dieset) once in black, twice in yellow. We need a full yellow set for the inside of the windows and alternate the black and yellow ones on the outside of the windows.

Step 3: diecut the parts of the bee in black and yellow as shown in the photo, diecut the wings in vellum and use ink of your choice on the honey pot. Assemble the bee and the honeypot.

Step 4: layout your yellow mats that will go on the inside of the windows very close together, so that you can stamp on them. I wanted the dash line to continue on multiple rectangles, so I layed them very close to each other and stamped them all at once. Stamp the bees on another square or rectangle and a nice sentiment on another.

Step 5: Cut a piece of black cardstock of 12 x 6 inch and make a top fold for the base of the card. Glue the white window part on top, glue the stamped yellow mats on the inside, so that you can see them when you open a window. Glue the black and yellow mats alternately on the outside of the windows and adhere the honeypot on the largest black square.

Step 6: cut 2 banners from set 1329 (stitched fishtail banner), one in white, one in yellow and stamp them with a sentiment of your choice. Adhere them on the inside of the card, slightly shifted. Adhere the bee on top of them.

I hope you enjoyced my busy (buzzzzzzzy…) card. Should you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask, I’d be happy to help you.

Happy crafting!!

Sylvia

Get well soon garland

July 27, 2023

My best friend is in the hospital and the least I can do is send a card, right? But a garland is more fun and hopefully it will put a smile on her face. It is always difficult to photograph a garland so I put them in a circle.

This time I used the Small Doilies from Annette Green as a base, on which I glued a circle from the same set with a letter from the alphabet from Esther Glass.

I attached the flags with a tab from the pocket pages fillers for the sidekick.

Everything got a layer of tea dye distress ink and then a black edge.

It is always quite a bit of work to make such a garland, but it is also very fun to do and it makes everyone happy.

Look at this cutie, Joset’s ladybug with a blue jacket on, I absolutely love it!

I halved the doilies and gave them all a layer of distress ink, I used tea dye. Then they got an edge of black ink, I also edited the letters and the tabs. All flags are attached to the string with the tab.

I hope my girlfriend is better soon and that she can just give this pendulum a place at home.

Thanks again for your visit,

Love,

Marjolijn.

Love this

July 19, 2023

Hi everyone,

I’m here for you today with a new blogpost. Today it is a sweet card with an ice cream. I will lead you step by step through this card.

I started with two tags from the Nested Tags dies. At the top I made a scoreline and adhere that small part together. You can see that line at the top. But you can still open it.

As base I used a piece of designpaper (Bellrose Pink) from 22 X 14 cm. I also cut a piece kraft cardstock from 22,5 x 14,5 cm. I also cut a piece designpaper from 5 x 16 cm and made a scoreline at 0,9 and 15,1 cm.

Now we adhere the 2 parts designpaper together. But you only adhere the small 0,9 cm and the back. So this piece is open to put things behind.

I cut out a piece of the designpaper and adhere this at the background. As you can see I also adhere the designpaper at the kraft.

I made a small cluster to add on the pink strip. All these elements are from the same paperpad.

Now it’s time to decorate the tags I made in the beginning. I cut a tag and numberstrip from the paperpad. I did some stamping at tickets and tabs and made a girl (the witch dies) with an ice cream. I used the donut from the Foodtruck Accessoires as reinforcer.

Adhere this at the front of the tag.

For the inside I cut out again a piece of the paperpad but also did some stamping with the good food good mood stamp. I made an bigger ice cream and ticket.

I also did some stamping and coloured 2 of them with a glitter pen.

Now I can slide one part of the tag under the stripe and one part above. You can unfold a part or you can take it all out.

Well I hope you enjoyed this project. I did when I was making. Thankyou for visiting and see you soon!

Kind regards

Lisanne Geerdink

Make Your Soul Happy Card

July 11, 2023

Hi everyone, it’s Tina here. Sometimes we all need a pick me up so I created a card for one of those moments. Below are the steps to create your own card.

Step 1 – Trim White Soft Finish Cardstock to 4 1/4″ x 11″, score at 5 1/2″ and fold in half for a horizontal top fold card. (A2)

Step 2 – Trim White Soft Finish Cardstock to 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″. Using a Blender Brush apply inks of your choice. I used Pink and Yellow and when mixed it blended into Orange. I sprinkled some water and used a paper towel to pick up the excess.

Step 3 – Stamp Zen Sentiment using Versafine Onyx Black Ink to the bottom of panel created in Step 2.

Step 4 – Diecut Stitched Rectangles using the panel created in Step 2. Adhere to card using Foam Tape.

Step 5 – Diecut Lighthouse in various colors of cardstock. Assemble and adhere to card front using Kids Choice Glue.

You’re unique

July 6, 2023

Hi all! It’s Sylvia again for you on the blog today with a fun card. Our granddaughter will turn 4 in a couple of days and she is all into rainbows, unicorns and princesses. I have made her this unique card and will show you how to do that. Let’s craft, shall we?

Step 1: using Soft Finish Cardstock, diecut all parts from the zebra set (no 1616), make sure you use double sided adhesive tape on the back of the tiny parts, this will make it much easier to assemble later. Also diecut the rainbow and cloud from discontinued set 1151 (rainbow sky). If you don’t have that, do not worry, you can also use any nested circle set that you have in your stash. There are also clouds in set 1795 (once upon a time accessories). Worst case scenario, you could even draw and colour the rays and cloud. Also diecut the shell from set 1147 that will be used as horn for the unicorn. As a replacement for that one, you could use the same shell from set 1751 (which is a bit longer) or use the horn from the rhino set (no.1664).

Step 2: Colour the rainbow in red, orange, yellow, green, blue, violet and purple with a medium of your choice. Use the same colours for the zebra stripes on the body (in the photo you see that I also coloured the stripes that go on the head, I decided later not to use them). Colour the hooves, manes and tail bright pink, the eyes black and the face a soft hue of pink.

Step 3: assemble the zebra/unicorn. Glue on the ears first before glueing the manes. Stick the stripes to the body in the colour order of the rainbow, so red, orange and yellow on the front legs, green, blue and violet on the hind legs. Glue the horn to the head.

Step 4: cut a base card of 8 x 6 inch and fold it in half to get a 4×6 inch card. Ink a base in soft grey for the unicorn to sit on. Glue the rainbow in the upper left part of the card, cut off the excess (save it for another card if you like). Diecut the smallest banner from set 1329, once in Soft Finish Cardstock, once in bright red card. Stamp “you are unique” from set CS 162 on the white banner and “#beyou” from that same set on the cloud. Glue the red banner slightly shifted under the white one.

Step 5: Place the unicorn on the grey inked part of the card, a bit off center to the right. Glue the cloud in its place at the end of the rainbow (it covers up any uneven ends) and glue the sentiment banner in its place. Finish the card by using some tiny diamonds randomly on the card.

I hope you like my card and that the instructions are clear. If not, please do not hesitate to ask, I will be happy to help you. Happy crafting (and happy summer vacation for everyone!!)

love

Hello little bird

July 3, 2023

Hello again, Jackie here with todays post. I have combined both Joset’s and Annette’s dies today into one very clean and simple card design which is quite quick to make and would be suitable for a number of occasions.

Step One:

Attach a panel of grey card trimmed at a slight angle to the very bottom of an A2 card blank.

Step Two:

Build the mug of tea as normal with the addition of a tea top. Die cut the very top of the mug into a piece of tea coloured card, fix this to the back of the mug slightly lower than the top then add a piece of white card behind to create the mug of tea effect.

Step Three:

Fix the mug to the card front. Build the bird in whatever colour combo you wish then fix to the top of the mug rim.

Step Four:

Finish off by adding a sentiment to suit your occasion.

I have chosen to create a blue tit of sorts from coloured cardstock but there are so many other possibilities to create different bird types both real and imaginary. I hope you have been inspired today with my very clean and simple design. Happy crafting – Jackie xx

Tons Of Fun Birthday Card

June 26, 2023

Hello crafty friends, it’s Summer Hills-Painter here. Here is a cute birthday card using the Elephant die from Joset’s Line

Preparation:

Cut and assemble the elephant from the Elephant die set. Cut an A2 card base from cream cardstock measuring. Cut a doily from the Large Doily die set. Make sure to keep the drop out. Cut a circle from the Fitted Circles die set that will fit onto the doily. Cut a rectangle from pink cardstock using the Stitched Rectangle die set. Cut a rectangle from patterned cardstock from the Fitted Rectangles die set. Cut 3 balloons from solid color cardstock and strings from the Birthday Flip Card die set. . Instructions:
Adhere the piece of patterned cardstock to the pink base layer. Also adhere the doily to the panel along with the center drop out

Adhere the die cut circle from the Fitted Circles die set using foam tape to the center of the doily die cut.

Adhere the elephant to the panel with the balloon string being held by the elephant trunk

Adhere the balloons to the card panel. I used some foam take to even out due to the foam tape under the elephant. I have also added highlights to the balloon and elephant eyes

You’re the coolest!

June 19, 2023

Hello Everyone, Jackie here again with todays post. I have made a summery card using some parts from the Food Truck die set along with the super cute squirrel however this design would work with any of the character’s.

Step One:

Create a pink top folding card blank measuring 5.5 x 4.25″ then trim a white panel measuring 5.25 x 4″ and round the four corners using a corner punch. Die cut the food truck window trim part then use this to draw a pencil line ready to cut out.

Step Two:

Trim out the window shape then glue the frame in place.

Step Three:

Die cut the tiled panel from the kitchen set then paint every other tile using the watercolour pallet. Fix the tiled panel to the pink card blank then attach the window panel to the card front using 3d foam pads.

Step Four:

Create the sun shade by die cutting the shade into both white and pink card, fussy cut every other pink section and glue on to the white part. Fix the shade on top of the window along with a die cut sign bar from the Food Truck die set.

Step Five:

Stamp out and trim the Stay Cool sign then gently ink around the edges using pink ink.

Step Six:

Add a selection of die cut ice creams and ice lollies, attach these using 3d foam pads.

Step Seven:

Die cut and build the Squirrel as normal, glue an ice lolly in his hand then fix him to the card front to finish.

I have chosen to leave this card with some white space but there would be plenty of room for another sentiment to suit your occasion.

Thank you for stopping by today, I hope you have enjoyed todays post. Until next time happy crafting – Jackie xx
