You’re the coolest!

June 19, 2023

Hello Everyone, Jackie here again with todays post. I have made a summery card using some parts from the Food Truck die set along with the super cute squirrel however this design would work with any of the character’s.

Step One:

Create a pink top folding card blank measuring 5.5 x 4.25″ then trim a white panel measuring 5.25 x 4″ and round the four corners using a corner punch. Die cut the food truck window trim part then use this to draw a pencil line ready to cut out.

Step Two:

Trim out the window shape then glue the frame in place.

Step Three:

Die cut the tiled panel from the kitchen set then paint every other tile using the watercolour pallet. Fix the tiled panel to the pink card blank then attach the window panel to the card front using 3d foam pads.

Step Four:

Create the sun shade by die cutting the shade into both white and pink card, fussy cut every other pink section and glue on to the white part. Fix the shade on top of the window along with a die cut sign bar from the Food Truck die set.

Step Five:

Stamp out and trim the Stay Cool sign then gently ink around the edges using pink ink.

Step Six:

Add a selection of die cut ice creams and ice lollies, attach these using 3d foam pads.

Step Seven:

Die cut and build the Squirrel as normal, glue an ice lolly in his hand then fix him to the card front to finish.

I have chosen to leave this card with some white space but there would be plenty of room for another sentiment to suit your occasion.

Thank you for stopping by today, I hope you have enjoyed todays post. Until next time happy crafting – Jackie xx

Wishing you oceans of joy

June 7, 2023

Hii everyone,

Welcome at this new blogpost from me, Lisanne Geerdink. I made a sea/beach box for you this time. The weather is great to work with the sea collection from Joset. This blogpost will be full with step by step pictures because the box is made by myself. It is good to know that everything is in CM not inches.

So first we need a piece white cardstock from 9 x 30,5 cm and made scorelines at 9 cm and 18 cm.

At the same piece you have on the right a square from 9 cm x 9 cm. We need to cut out a window from 7 x 7 cm. This piece will be the back, bottum and front side.

Now we will cut the piece for the sides and top. For this part we need a piece of white cardstock from 28 x 10 cm. And we made a scoreline at 0,5 cm, 9,5 cm, 18,5 cm and 27,5 cm.

We also need to make two scorelines at the longest side at 0,5 cm and 9.5 cm. These lines will make the strip we can use to adhere everything together.

It is one long line now, we need to cut some pieces out of this line. You will see that in the next picture. All the grey parts need to cut out.

Now we need to make 5 squares with design papier from 8,9 x 8,9 cm. It is just a little bit smaller than the cardstock, but now it fits perfect. Two of this squares we adhere at the piece cardstock with 3 squares from 9 x 9 cm. It is also smart to put the double sided adhesive at all the strips, that will be easier later.

We also need a piece acetate from 8 x 8 cm. We will adhere this at the part we cut out a window.

Now we can adhere some parts together. You lay the piece with the window at your desk. First I adhere one strip at the left side at the bottom and the back. Once you do this you can adhere the three other strips. You have the box like the picture below.

Now we can put the pieces design paper in the box at the sides, bottom and top so you don’t see the stripes anymore. I also put a piece from the Mason Jar at one design paper. Now it looks like reef.

Now it is decorate time. So I coloured some weed, the sea turtle and the whale with Distress Ink for inside the box. I adhere these parts with the pop-up dies. You only need the put these dies through your machine with cardstock and cut the pieces out. Than you have one rectangle with a scoreline.

At the window I adhere sand that imagine the bottom of the sea. I used the dies from the sea weed set. In this set are also stones and weed. I coloured this also with Distress Ink and adhere this. Now we can adhere the front with window at the box. I also cut out a piece design paper from 9 x 9 cm and made the same window in it (7×7 cm).

I cut out 3 pieces from 9 x 9 cm, two for the left and right side and one for the top. For the back you need a piece of 9 x 12,4 cm. I made the oyster shell as base for the top of the box.

I made the light house and the sand crab for the beach part. Also with some shells and the sentiment ‘wishing you oceans of you’.

At least I put a shell and anchor at the front of the window. Now is everything done. I had so much fun making this project.

I hope you enjoyed it to, thanks for watching and see you next time!

Kind regards,

Lisanne Geerdink

Celebrating 60

June 5, 2023

Hello everyone – Jackie here today. My brother is going to be 60 very soon (how did that happen so quickly!) so I have bought him a bottle of champagne to celebrate which gave me the inspiration for this card.

Step One:

Die cut a pretty edge border in dark pink card then glue to the reverse side of a prepared panel measuring approximately 5.5″ x 3.5″ or 14 x 9cm. Attach the prepared panel using 3d foam pads to the front of a top folding A2 card blank 5.5″ x 4.25″ or 14 x 10.7cm

Step Two:

Trim another panel measuring 4.5″ x 2.75″ or 11.5 x 7cm then splatter with watercolour paints, here I used colours yellow, blue and purple. Fix the panel to the front using more 3d foam pads.

Step Three:

Build the Monster as normal and ink around the edges to give him a bit of dimension. Add a couple of pieces of card to the reverse side of the monster then fix him to the card front, this will raise him slightly from the panel.

Step Four:

Trim down another edge border and add to the right hand side of the panel. This step can be done in step two: It was a detail I added after I attached the splattered panel.

Step Five:

Die cut all the words, shadows and numbers twice. Glue them all together then add them to the card front, the layering will add dimension and texture.

Step Six:

Finish off by adding the champagne glass. Die cut the glass from vellum and use a yellow marker to add dots on the reverse side, fix the glass to the monsters hand using a tiny piece of double sided tape.

That is my card for today, You can make this work for any occasion and change the colours to suit you.

Thank you for stopping by today, I hope I have inspired you to have a go. Happy crafting – Jackie xx

for a special dad

May 31, 2023

Hi everyone! Sylvia today on the blog for you with some inspiration for a Father’s Day card. We probably all struggle with masculine cards, so this might help. I need to give a little explanation on beforehand on where my inspiration came from. In the Netherlands we used to have a bedtime TV story when I was little. Every night at approx 7 pm Mister Owl read a story in the animal newspaper about something that happened in the forest. In that forest there lived a lot of animals, a.o. these 2 brothers, Ed and Willem Beaver, who were the handymen for all other animals. They are the inspiration for this card.

step 1: cut a base card of 21 x 20 cm and score at the top to create a slimeline card of 10,5 x 20 cm. Leaving the card folded, diecut the chain (2x) from planner set 2029 at the long side and cut it off totally at both ends from the top layer of the card to form a shaped border. This will be the front of the card. On the back of the card, line the card at the back with a small strip (approx 1,5 cm) of silver cardstock and glue both chain parts back in.

step 2: ink the centre of the front in a colour of your choice (I used distress ink peeled paint) and stamp some leaves from set CS 298 in the upper corners in a green ink.

step 3: diecut 2 beavers (set 1931) in Soft Finish Cardstock. Use the big round belly to draw an apron on (see photo for reference). Colour one of the aprons black (this is “Ed”), leave the other apron white (this is “Willem”). Colour all body parts for Ed in a dark brown, use a lighter brown for all bodyparts of Willem. Diecut one small round belly extra, cut in half, colour 1 half black, leave the other half white. These are the pockets on the aprons. Assemble both beavers, ahere the pockets to the aprons and glue the small round belly piece under/below the apron to mimick a belly. Draw black brows above the eyes of Ed (the black beaver).

step 4: diecut the toolbox, tools, and letters from set 2029 in a colour of your choice and assemble. I used woodgrain paper for the toolbox and a small piece of scrap to make a measuring tool. Draw some random paint splothes and spatters on the toolbox and colour them with a marker in different colours (as if the toolbox has been heavily used and stained with paint). Give both beavers some tools/screws in their hands and/or pocket.

step 5: adhere the beavers to the left and right of the card. Pop-dot the toolbox in between. Stamp “for a special dad” and “you’re my hero” above and below the toolbox.

If you have andy questions, please feel free to ask, I’d be happy to help you out.

Happy Father’s Day and happy crafting!

Love,
Sylvia

Have a roaring birthday!

May 24, 2023

Hii everyone,

It is time for a new blogpost from me, Lisanne. Today it is a birthday card for the daughter of my neighbor’s . It is her first birtday.

First I made the head of the animals and the safari jeep. I only need the heads because that is enough for the window. I used Soft Finish Cardstock and Distress Ink to make these elements.

And if you adhere these elements together you will get a cute Safari Jeep.

As base I made the Mason Jar with paper from Reminiscene The Book 5. I used the Safari saying stamps for the background.

For the front I cut out the window of the jar and made a grass line in it. As you can see it trimmed this in two pieces other wise I didn’t have enough. But you don’t see that later because I adhere the jeep over that part.

At the top I made some jungle leaves.

I adhere the Safari Jeep.

I adhere the background behind the mason jar and made a small jar with the sentiment ‘have a roaring birthday’.

At least I put the name of the girl at the jeep.

So I hope you like this post about this birthday card. Thankyou for visiting and see you soon!

Kind regards Lisanne Geerdink

Monster Birthday

May 22, 2023

Hello crafty friends, it’s Summer Hills-Painter here. I have some birthday parties coming up for some little boys and needed a boy themed card. Today I am sharing one of them.

Preparation:

Cut and assemble the monster from the Monster 3 die set.  Cut a card base from blue cardstock. Cut “Happy Birthday” from the Birthday Flip Card die set using the same blue cardstock that was used for the card base. Cut a rectangle from white cardstock from the Fitted Rectangles die set.

Instructions:
Using blue ink, lightly stencil ink onto two corners of the white cardstock using the stencil from the Planners Stencils 1 set.

Adhere “Happy Birthday” to the top of the stenciled rectangle

Stamp “Little Monster” from the Monster Hugs stamp set. I cut the stamp in half but you can make off “Happy Birthday” if you are uncomfortable cutting the stamps apart

Adhere the monster to the card panel

Adhere the card panel to the card base and then the card is complete
