Hello to all!
This is Anita Kejriwal with a super cute interactive pop up box card for Christmas.
The new release from Elizabeth Craft Designs has many cute Christmas stamps and dies and it is so much fun to colour them.
Step 1 – Cut a piece of cardstock that measures 6.5 inches by 12 inches. Score along the long side at 2.75 inches, 5.5 inches, 8.25 inches, and 11 inches.
- Score along the short side at 2.75 inches.
- Referring to the template above, cut down the solid lines and fold along the dotted lines. Note – that the panel on the far right hand side will not be folded as this is the tall back panel of the pop up card and will remain upright.
- Assemble box using adhesive on the tab.
Step 2 – Cut patterned papers slightly smaller than each panel and adhere to the top of each panel, visible when the flaps are folded downward. Refer to photos.
Step 3 – Cut two strips of cardstock that measure 1 inch x 3.75 inches. Score on either side of the long end at .5 inches to create tabs. Fold one tab forward and one tab to the back. Apply adhesive to the tabs and insert into top of the box to create dividers. These dividers will hold the pop up elements (penguins) and will fold flat when the card is closed for mailing.
Step 4 – Stamp images from the Penguins and Trees & Ornaments Clear Stamp sets onto White Soft Finish Cardstock using black ink. Color, and then die cut using coordinating dies. Adhere to box referring to photo above for placement.
Step 5 – Stamp sentiment from the Holiday Cheers Clear Stamp set onto White Soft Finish Cardstock. Cut the sentiments into two rectangles. Sponge the edges with color and adhere to the tall panel near the trees as shown above.
Step 6 – For mailing – The size of the envelope needed is determined by the size of the card when it’s folded flat. Tip: Some of the elements will stick out beyond the box portion of the card. To keep the tips of the trees and the penguin’s sled from being damaged in transit, fold the card inside a piece of computer printer paper before tucking it into the envelope. This isn’t needed if the card will be hand-delivered.
