Hello everyone,
Today I like to share with you a card from our Guest Designer Jessie Hurley. Jessie has many years experience in the craft industry having owned her own Papercrafting shop and the experience she gained teaching craft classes and make and takes all over British Columbia, Canada.
Jessie describes herself as the Technique Master, since she has rarely repeated a class.
The technique she is sharing with you today is one that I absolutely love and can not wait to try myself. For this card Jessie used our Daisies in Oval Peel-Off sticker and one of our new embossing folders. I hope you are just as excited as I am! First have a look at this beautiful card and read Jessie’s step by step instructions below.
Step 1: Carefully peel your Elizabeth Craft Designs Peel-Off sticker and place it on the back side (the silver side) of the Spellbinders Craft Foil.
Step 2: Using your paper stomp, on the coloured side of the craft foil, (the side that doesn’t have your peel-off sticker) gently rub the area where the Peel-Off sticker is underneath, being sure to get into each area and making the lines of the peel-off sticker show up sharply through the craft foil. If you do not make the image sharp, then the next steps will not be as spectacular!
Step 3: Place the Craft Foil onto the embossing folder, it doesn’t matter which side of the folder, though each side will give you a different look. Tape the foil down if you would like to ensure that it doesn’t move in the next step.
Step 4: Again with your paper stomp, rub around your Peel-Off image, creating an embossed pattern on the craft foil. You do not need to rub too hard for this step, but you do need to ensure that the pattern is complete. You can not do this step using your embossing machine, as the machine will emboss the pattern on the embossing folder right into your Peel-Off image.
Step 5: Using your sanding block, gently scratch off the top surface of colour on the craft foil. I like to rub in small circles as the scratches will show up on the metal, and circular scratches are nicer looking than straight scratches! You can rub off as much or as little of the colour as you like.
Step 6: Attach the image to your card. There is no need to remove the Peel-Off sticker from the craft foil. It will help keep your image from collapsing as people poke it to see how you did it!
Supplies needed:

Love the look of the embossed metal. Very nice technique.
Love the flowers! All great cards.
Looks like spring is here with all those flowers popping up. Can’t wait to try these techniques.
Wow, I must give this technique a try.
Awesome technique, thanks for sharing
Fabulous project. I’m going to try it with my Dragonfly Ladies in Circles. Dick Blick (online craft supplier) sells paper stumps and they’re in the art materials aisle at most store that sell paints and brushes and such. They’re used for blending pastels and charcoal and the reason they work so well for this technique is that unlike a metal-tip stylus they are soft and won’t poke through the foil.
I haven’t heard of a paper stomp either. I do have #2 paper stump. Could this be the same?
Love this technique! Thanks for teaching me something new to try! Can’t wait to do it!
