Love You Card

February 6, 2021

Hey Crafters! Katelyn here, sharing with you my Love You Card.

To create my Love You Card, I’ve used a variety of dies and stamps from Suzanne Cannon as well as dies from Jost Designs and Els van de Burgt Studio. You’ll want to read below as I share with you how to recreate my card at home.

Step One. From the Worn Wood Paper Pack, choose one of the patterned papers. Die cut a 4″ Stitched Indented Rectangle out of the paper. Distress the edges of the rectangle. Ink the edges of the rectangle using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Two. Choose one of the patterned papers out of the Summer Art Paper Pack. Die cut a 3 3/4″ Fitted Indented Rectangle out of the paper. Distress the edges of the rectangle. Ink the edges of the rectangle using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Three. Choose another piece of the patterned papers out of the Summer Art Paper Pack. Die cut a 3 1/2″ Stitched Indented Rectangle out of the paper. Distress the edges of the rectangle. Ink the edges of the rectangle using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Four. Choose one of the patterned papers out of the Summer Art Paper Pack. Die cut a 3 3/4″ Stitched Oval out of the paper. Distress the edges of the oval. Ink the edges of the oval using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Five. Die cut the Flourished Frame out of a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock.

Step Six. Die cut the Flourished Oval Frame out of a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock.

Step Seven. Die cut the three hearts die from the Entwined Hearts die out of a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Die cut the three hearts again twice out of one of the previously used patterned papers. You’ll need a total of three white hearts and six of the patterned paper hearts.

Step Eight. From the Love & Hearts Collection Stamp Set, you’ll need the Love You sentiment, the plain heart and the two patterns that go inside of the plain heart. Apply Emboss It Ink to the Love You Sentiment and stamp onto a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Sprinkle Copper Scroll Modern Gilding Powders over the stamped sentiment. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool. Apply Emboss It Ink to the plain heart and stamp onto a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Sprinkle Kells Gold Modern Gilding Powders over the stamped heart. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool. Repeat the previous step for the other plain heart. Apply Milled Lavender Distress Ink to the Love you pattern and stamp in the middle of one of the embossed hearts. Apply Victorian Velvet Distress Ink to the heart pattern and stamp in the middle of one of the embossed hearts. Fussy cut the hearts and sentiment out. Ink the edges of the hearts and sentiment using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Nine. Adhere the flourished frame to the 4″ rectangle.

Step Ten. Foam square the 3 1/2″ rectangle to the 3 3/4″ rectangle Adhere the 3 3/4″ rectangle to the 4″ rectangle.

Step Eleven. Foam square the stitched oval to the middle of the 3 1/2″ rectangle. Adhere the flourished oval to the stitched oval.

Step Twelve. Use foam squares and adhesive to adhere the two embossed hearts to the middle of the stitched oval. Use adhesive and foam squares to adhere the Love You sentiment to the bottom right side of the two hearts.

Step Thirteen. Use adhesive to adhere the nine hearts as desired on the card front.

Step Fourteen. To finish the card, cut a cardbase out of White Soft Finish Cardstock that measures 5 1/4″ x 8″, score at 4″. Adhere the cardfront to the cardbase.
