Love in the Lavender by Suzanne Cannon

Hello Artlets! It’s Suzanne here today with a sweet and delicate project that really should be framed!  I’m combining Susan Tierney-Cockburn’s brand new Lavender die set with A Way With Words Love.  Can’t you almost smell the beautiful scent from this card?  I think it deserves a little lavender sachet tucked inside to really complete the effect!

Here is how this card is made.

Hi Everyone! It’s Tina here today for Susan’s Garden Club. My DH works with flowers, before I met him I honestly didn’t know much about flowers except roses and tulips.mThis tag is inspired by him for the beauty he showed me and bestows on me week after week. Lilies have become one of my top 5 flowers. Here are the steps to recreate this Lily tag.

June 28, 2016

Hello, Robin here with my first post for Elizabeth Craft Designs. I am so thrilled with this opportunity to be a guest designer and share my designs with all of you. I had so much fun creating this deep sea adventure card. I hope you enjoy making one as well.

  1. Use a paper trimmer to cut one 8 1/2″ x 11″ piece of tan colored cardstock lengthwise at 4 1/4″.
  2. Fold the pieces of card stock in half to create two card bases that measure 4 1/4″  x  5 1/2″.
  3. Adhere the back side of one of the card bases to the inside flap of the second card base. Make sure to line them up perfectly. You will now have a three-paneled card base.
  4. Trim 1/8 of an inch off your third panel so when you fold your card it will lay perfectly flat.
  5. Close your card so your third panel is in the middle and your left panel is on top. place your fourth sized oval die from your Stitched Ovals die set (#1113) in the center of your card so it lays horizontal.
  6. Run the entire card through your die cutting machine until your top two card layers have cleanly cut through. you will now have a left window panel, a middle solid panel, and a right window panel.
  7. Emboss your window panels one at a time with your favorite sea themed embossing folder or one that creates the look of water or rocks. (With this card I used a zebra pattern one that looks wavy.) Make sure you only emboss your window panels.
  8. Trim out a blue background panel measuring 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ and emboss it to match your window panels. You will adhere this to the middle solid panel to create your ocean background.
  9. Using your fourth and fifth size ovals from your Stitched Ovals set you will create a border for the front panel of your window card. Using a glue pen to apply a small amount to the back of the oval frame, carefully adhere it to the front of your card around the oval window.
  10. Using dies from the Seaweed die set (#1186) cut 7 green seaweed pieces, 2 orange coral pieces, 1 large and 2 small light pink coral pieces and the rims for them in darker pink, plus 5 brown big rocks and 5 brown small rocks.
  11. Using dies from the Small Shells die set (#1147) cut 1 brown starfish, 1 pink starfish and starfish overlay, 1 shell with its overlay.
  12. Cut 1 gray anchor using the Lighthouse die set (#1145).
  13. Cut 1 green sea turtle and sea turtle shell overlay using the Sea Turtle die set (#1185).
  14. Cut 2 layers of blue cardstock ocean waves the Boat die set (#1182). Adhere the pieces so one row of waves  ishigher than the other and trim them using the fourth size oval from the Stitched Ovals set, the same set used to cut out your windows.
  15. On the lower left corner of your card front, layer and adhere two green and one orange seaweed pieces and two brown rocks, one smaller, one larger.
  16. On the bottom right corner of your card front, layer and adhere one orange seaweed piece and three pink coral pieces, then add add one small rock and one large rock.
  17. On the inside of your front flap add one green seaweed and one brown starfish to the bottom right corner.
  18. On the inside of your right window panel adhere your two layers of ocean waves. The back of the waves is a perfect location to add your sentiment. I added a stamped image from the Ahoy Sentiments clear stamps set, ‘Have a  splashing day!’ (Tip: It’s easiest to stamp the sentiment before attaching the wave pieces to the window.)
  19. On the outside of your right hand window panel layer and adhere one green seaweed piece, one 1 pink double-layered shell and a large brown rock at the bottom left corner.
  20. On the bottom right corner arrange and adhere add three green pieces of seaweed, two large and two small brown rocks, one double-layered pink starfish, and the anchor.
  21. Lastly, add your sea turtle making sure to line him up so when you close the right window panel you can see that he is partly in the waves.
  22. Fold your card panels in and enjoy your triple-layered Deep Sea Adventure 🙂

Just Bee-cause

jacky-post2

It’s Jacky here. For my project today I have created a Stand Up Card using the new Dotted Scallop Circles and Ovals and Bead Strings 2 dies from Els Van de Burgt Studio. I have also used the Strawberries die set and clear stamps from Joset Designs.

Here’s how I created my card:

Step 1: Cut a piece of Olive Twist Soft Finish Cardstock measuring 5″ x 11″. Score at 3″ and 5-1/2″. Fold along score lines. Lightly score at 8-1/4″ but do not fold.

Step 2: Cut a piece of Celadon Green Soft Finish Cardstock of 2 ½” x 5″. Adhere the piece to the bottom of the card base.

Step 3: Using one of the Bead Strings 2 cut 3 bead strips in Olive Twist Soft Finish Cardstock backed with Clear Double Sided Adhesive prior to cutting.

Step 4: Die cut one Dotted Scallop Circle from White Soft Finish cardstock using the smallest Dotted Scallop Circle in the set. Use black ink to stamp ‘Just Bee-cause” onto the circle.

Step 5: Die cut one Stitched Oval from White Soft Finish Cardstock using the third largest die in the set.

Step 6: Die cut one Dotted Scallop Oval from Celadon Green Soft Finish Cardstock using the second largest die in the set.

Step 7: To create the Strawberries: Die cut one large solid strawberry and one small solid strawberry from Sunflower Soft Finish Cardstock. Die cut one large and one small strawberry stamen and one large and one small strawberry overlay from White Soft Finish Cardstock backed with Clear Double Sided Adhesive prior to cutting. Using a Mini Ink Blending Tool to apply the ink, color overlays with Barn Door; color stamens with Mowed Lawn Ink. (Clean the tool between colors.) When ink is dry, assemble strawberries and adhere to card front as shown.

Step 8: To create the leaves: Die cut two strawberry leaves from White Soft Finish Cardstock. Color the leaves with Mowed Lawn Ink applied with a Mini Ink Blending Tool. For best results, work on top of a non-stick craft mat (or the leftover backing of an adhesive sheet) and start making circular motions with the inked tool while it is on the mat, working toward the edge of the cardstock and then onto the shape (edge to center so the darkest ink is at the outer areas). Tip: Use light hand pressure. You can always add more ink as needed.

Step 9: To create the bees: Die cut two bee bodies from black and yellow Velvet Adhesive Sheets. Die cut wings from White Soft Finish Cardstock. The bee with the open wings will go on the bottom Celadon Green Color piece to create the Stand-up Helper card. Refer to the photo.

Step 10: Assemble card – Adhere the white Stitched Oval to the Green Dotted Scallop Oval.  Adhere the strawberries,  leaves and one bee to the white oval. Adhere the main Oval panel to the lower half of the front of the card. Use 3D tape to add dimension to the small strawberry.  Add Bead Strings accents. Add the second bee as explained in step 9.

I hope you enjoy this project and have a wonderful Sunday!

Jacky.

Happy Anniversary card elizabeth craft designs suzanne cannon kathy jo 3
Hello Crafty Friends! Last weekend my hubby and I celebrated our 9th anniversary. Of course, I made a card for him! For the card I wanted to make something manly with cool papers and textures. He received the card and told me how much he really liked the card: the Happy Anniversary die cut, the “rustic metal looking papers” (his words), and the colors. It appears that my hubby is not only a fan of my work but also of ECD supplies!

Hi everyone,

It’s Frances Byrne here with my Pop it Ups Wednesday tutorial for April. This time I have created a card using the Hanging Charm Pull Tab die set. Instead of using the frame that comes with the die set I have used the Oval dies from the Stitched Ovals and Dotted Scallop Ovals. I am also playing with the new Boat die from Joset Designs.
