It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year

November 27, 2017

Good Morning.  This is Selma Stevenson today.  I love creating scenes using  stamp sets along with  die cuts.

  1.  Start with a 12×6 inch piece of white card stock and score across the center to create a 6 inch square card base.  Cut a piece of light green card stock 5 3/4 inches square and attach to front of the card.  Next, cut a piece of  White Soft Finish Cardstock 5 1/2 inches square.  Use a score board and score around the edges twice to create a raised ridges for a finished look.
  2. Stamp the sentiment with VersaFine Ink at the upper left corner, clear emboss it. Use light blue ink to stamp the small snowflake from the Winter Bears stamp set randomly around the upper half of the card front.
  3. Use the Adventure Edges die to cut one snowbank. Adhere to the bottom of the card.

4.  Using the Reindeer die set, cut five pine trees from White Soft Finish Cardstock.  Use a brush to stipple with Distress Oxide Iced Spruce and Cracked Pistachio inks. Lightly spritz with water to activate the special effects and textures produced with Distress Oxide Inks.

5.  Dab Snow-Tex or a similar glittery texture paste onto the trees to resemble snow. Allow to dry.

6.  Add foam tape down the center of the back of each tree as shown above.  Curve the sides of the trees toward the back for added dimension.

7.  Arrange and adhere the trees on the front of the card as above.  Add some of the Snow-Tex around the base of the trees.  Sprinkle Cool Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter over the wet texture for an extra burst of sparkle.

8.  Using permanent black ink, stamp the reindeer and one bird. Color, and then die cut with the matching dies.

9.  Using the same ink, stamp the snowman. Color, then die cut with matching die.

10.  Adhere the snowman, reindeer and bird to the card front with dimensional tape.

This would be a cute card to give to anyone, don’t you think!
