Hi Notecard

March 29, 2021

Hey Crafters! Katelyn here, sharing with you my Hi Notecard.

To create my notecard, I’ve used dies from the Paper Flower Collection, Els van de Burgt Studio and Joset Designs as well as stamps from the Art Journal Collection. You’ll want to read below as I share with you how to recreate my notecard at home.

Step One. Choose two pieces of patterned paper from the Worn Wood Paper Pack. Die cut a 4 1/4″ Stitched Indented Square out of one of the patterned papers. Die cut a 4″ Fitted Indented Square out of the other patterned paper. Ink the edges of both squares using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Two. Die cut a 3 3/4″ Stitched Indented Square out of a piece of kraft cardstock. Ink the edges of the square using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Three. Die cut a 1 1/2″ Stitched Circle out of a piece of kraft cardstock. Next, you’ll need the letters H & I from the Morning Letters Stamp Set. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the letters and stamp onto the circle. Ink the edges of the circle using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Four. Die cut the Elegant Ornament out of a piece of brown patterned paper. Cut the ornament down to 4 1/4″.

Step Five. From the Florals 6, die cut the leaves three times out of a piece of green patterned paper.

Step Six. Die cut the Medium, small and extra small flower twice out of a blue lightly patterned paper. Die cut the medium, small and extra small flower once out of a blue patterned paper. Die cut the centres once out of a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Ink the edges of all of the flowers using Walnut Stain Distress Ink.

Step Seven. Adhere the 4″ square to the 4 1/4″ square. Foam square the 3 3/4″ square to the 4″ square.

Step Eight. Adhere the elegant ornament in the middle of the 3 3/4″ square. Adhere the 1 1/2″ stitched square to the middle of the elegant ornament.

Step Nine. Adhere the coordinating flowers together. Adhere a white centre in the middle of each flower.

Step Ten. Adhere the three leaves as desired on the left hand side of the card front. Use adhesive and foam squares to adhere the three flowers to the left side of the elegant ornament, making sure the flowers cover the bottom of the leaves.

Step Eleven. To finish the card, cut a cardbase out of White Soft Finish Cardstock that measures 4 1/4″ x 8 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″. Adhere the cardfront to the cardbase.

Thanks for joining me today! I hope that I’ve inspired you to create your own version of my Hi Notecard at home.

Katelyn

My Hero

January 17, 2021

Hello friends,

It’s Sandy Diller with a fun card that would be perfect for sending to a child of any age. With all that is going on in the world – an uplifting message is always welcome.

Who wouldn’t love to find this cute little hero in their mailbox?

This is a slimline card that measures 9″ X 4″. Start with cardstock that is 9″ X 8″ – scored in the center.

Using the Phone Booth die set, assemble the phone booth leaving the door open. I used my label maker to add the word telephone but the Phone Booth kit comes with a stamp that could be used.

Using the Adventure Edges, cut a section of ground, I used green to make it look like grass. Then the inside of the phone booth was added.

Using the Prince die set, cut out the pieces needed to make the prince (or super hero). I used white Soft Finish Cardstock but you could easily use colored cardstock. I added all the colors I wanted using markers.

I trimmed off the bottom portion of the jacket and joined the two pieces together using a piece of scrap paper on the back. Trim off all the “fluffy parts” making a smooth line as shown with the arrows below.

Assemble the parts as shown above.

Add the cape and head – your super hero is ready to go on the card. I colored the inside of the cape with a darker red to make it appear to be shadowed.

On the inside, a simple message.

Have a wonderful day,

Sandy
