Hello there, it´s Sanna here again with another guest design team post. Today I´d like to share a mixed media style scrapbook layout with you for a change. I´ve also created a clean and simple card with some of the residue just for fun and will show that at the end of this post. Hope you enjoy today´s inspiration!
This is the finished layout and in the following I will show you how I created it:
Step 1: Take a piece of patterned paper from the Fly & Scrap paper collection. Use this as background for the layout.
Step 2: Take another piece of neutral paper and mist it with similar colors that appear on the original paper design of the first paper chosen.
Step 3: Die cut the misted paper piece using the dies from the Stitched Fishtail Banners die set. Cut the whole paper and use any leftover pieces on cards and other future projects.
Step 4: Apply some white gesso with a scraper onto the background around the area the photos will be placed.
Step 5: Stamp anchors from the Ahoy Clear Stamp set using black ink onto the background very randomly.
Step 6: Arrange the banners on top of the gessoed area once it is dry, but don´t adhere them in place yet.
Step 7: Take a sheet of A4 sized Soft Finish Cardstock and die cut some Garden Notes Ladder Fern pieces for the page.
Step 8: Mist the ferns with green spray ink and let dry or use a heat tool for faster drying.
Step 9: Adhere the banners and the ferns on place and stamp some sentiments for additional interest onto the background using a sentiment stamp from the Ahoy Clear Stamp set.
Step 10: Fussy cut some flowers from the cover sheet of the Fly & Scrap paper pack and adhere next to the photos in clusters. Embellish the page, add a title and the journaling and finish off with faux stitching around the edges.
To give you a better idea of each and every step, I´ve prepared a start-to-finish video for you to watch:
I had a few leftover pieces and a simple card idea in mind, so I also created a fun card with just a few simple steps:
Take the Fly & Scrap paper pack cover sheet and a white card base as a starting point.
Adhere some of the striped pattern onto the card base, but leave approximately 1,5 cm strip of white paper to show on the very left side of the card.
Then stamp a sentiment onto one of the previously die cut leftover banner pieces with black ink. Resize if necessary.
Add a strip of Clear Double Sided Adhesive next to the striped paper piece and apply Violet Silk Microfine Glitter onto the adhesive strip.
Decorate the card with faux stitching, wood veneer pieces, a stamped flower and some black ink splatters.
A lovely summer themed card is finished in no time with the simple idea to repurpose the cover sheet of the paper pack! I hope I was able to inspire you a bit with my projects – see you next month for another tutorial!!
Happy crafting,
Sanna
