Scary Parrot

September 22, 2022

Hello every one! It’s me Alice, today it’s my turn to show you a creation. I choise this time for a combination with a touch of Halloween and a boys theme.

I made this time the Parrot in a Pirate outfit and some Halloween stuff. The Parrot is making some green food for his spider friends and the for the bats.

The parrot I colored with different colors distress ink. Love it to use a lote of colors. And this theme is perfect for that.

On the background a made some clouds with a mask stencil and also some distress ink. This time I choise for some purple clouds.

On the background between the palm trees there is a spiderweb from the little friend of the parrot. The are playing at the beace. Waiting of the diner the parrot is making. In the air the bats are flying and waiting also on the dinner.

In the front a stamp with the cute text you’re so cool it’s scary. How lovely is this card for a boy. Or a cool girl ofcours.

Hope you like this card and see you next time!

Pumpkin Patch

September 20, 2022

Hello everyone, Jackie here again with today’s post. As Autumn is just around the corner I though I would make this cute pumpkin card using of course pumpkins and the gnome die sets. This would make a lovely piece of happy mail to let your friends know how just special they are.

Step One:

You will need an A2 card blank for this card, so start by trimming a white card panel down to 5.25×4″ to fit slightly smaller than the card blank. Ink the brown earth and blue sky using distress inks, I have chosen to use finger daubers but you could easily switch to normal daubers if you have those.

Step Two

Next create the green bush, Again I used a finger dauber but this time I just daubed in the one place and twisted slightly to make an inked circle, carry on making the circles until it looks bush like.

Step Three

Add the sentiment over the brown earth. Use a stamping platform to ink a few times for a nice solid impression.

Step Four

Die cut two large pumpkins and two smaller pumpkins then ink around the edges for added dimension. Cut storks and tendrils for three of them. Ensure one of the smaller pumpkins is made upside down for the hat – as shown in the photo below.

Step Five

Build the gnome parts shown in the photo below, cut the hair from the lady gnome pig tails. Add white stripes to the arms using a white gel pen.

Step Six

Add the pumpkin pieces to the gnome to finish the gnome off.

Step Seven

Add the pumpkins to the card blank with a dab of glue then use 3d foam pad to attach the pumpkin gnome. And now your card is ready.

Hope you enjoyed following along with this cute pumpkin patch gnome card. I had a lot of fun creating this card. See you next time!

Art Journal Collection Beautiful Blooms Cardmaking Uncategorized

Joyeux Noel

September 18, 2022

Hi friends….Michelle here sharing a Christmas card that could really work all winter long, just change the sentiment and you’re all good! I used the Noel Stamp Set from the Beautiful Blooms Collection for the main focus. I really love the greenery images included in this set.

Step 1: I started by stamping the large mistletoe image in black and brought it to life with some colour. I really love how in their florals, they have little black dots added into the designs….it’s a fun little touch! They are really hard to see here, as the darker green shades on the leaves kind of covered it up, but if you look close enough you can see the black dots. To add that interest back into the design, I added some dots with a white gel pen. A red glitter gel was added to the berries for some sparkle.

Once it was coloured I diecut it using the coordinating die, as well as 2 other black pieces to stack them together to add definition. This also makes it more sturdy than using foam adhesive alone. I also cut out a 4th using black cardstock to allow a black shadow to peek out from behind once they are all adhered together.

Step 2: For the background I used the large snowflake die from the Holiday Special Art Journal Kit, however instead of die cutting I dry embossed with it. To dry emboss with dies I use a silicone mat as a replacement for one of the hard plastic plates. This allows the pressure to emboss the image on my paper, but not enough so that it will cut through the cardstock. I love the texture this gives and the subtle background it makes as well.

Step 3: I added a little bit of very subtle blue ink blending in the middle and some flecks using a black gouache. The blue ink will give it a very soft halo effect once the image is placed back on the embossed cardstock. For the sentiment I white heat embossed the Joyeux Noel on black cardstock and cut it out using the coordinating dies.

Step 4: A strip of black and white striped paper from my paper scrap stash was added to the left side. The diecut image and sentiment were all added to the embossed background using a liquid adhesive and then to the cardbase with a piece of craft foam for an extra added bit of dimension.

This came together relatively quick. The longest part was waiting for the glitter gel on the berries to dry lol. I hope that this has helped to inspire you a bit and possibly get started on your Christmas/Holiday cards. This will be 1 less for me to this year!

I wish you all the most wonderful day and I hope you find sometime to sit down and create something wonderful!

Cardmaking Paper flowers Planner Essentials Scrapbooking

Wonderful Time of Year

September 15, 2022

Hello creative friends welcome back to the Elizabeth Crafts Blog, it is Karan Gerber here to share a holiday card with you. Although it seems a bit early to be sharing Holiday cards, my desk is full of Christmas Projects at the moment so i wanted to get a jump start on a few more.

Using Planner Essentials 47 to cut out the tree, i cut it out 6 times, just trimming off the tree and i layered them all in the circles. I then cut the deer on a coordinating paper from the collection i was using.

I used the stitched circles to create a winter scene, starting with the smaller circle on the inside layer, then the larger circle on the outside layer. Using foam adhesive  to pop the layers to allow me to create this lovely winter scene

The florals 12, i used and cut out on Foamiran which is a light felt paper, i shaped and added stamens, paint , then a bit of snow paste and finally glitter to the centers. They turned out so beautiful, that i know i will be doing this technique again and again.

I love how this winter scene turned out, and what a great way to get a jumpstart on my Holiday Cards. I hope you dig into your planner essentials and see which ones will work for your holiday cards

Witchie Halloween

September 8, 2022

Hello everyone, Alice here! How are you doing today? It’s my turn again to show you a fun card creation. And as you know I’m a huge fan of Halloween so I couldn’t help myself to make another Halloween card for today’s blog post. This card was an absolute joy to create. I love creating cards using dies from different collections and that is exactly what I did for this card. A few of Esther’s collection and a few of Joset’s. Below you can find out how I created this card.

I started with the little witch. I made her from different colors cardstock. And do you see how brave she is with the bat on her arm? It’s her little Halloween friend.

After I made this little witch, I made the background. I made this one with a mask stencil for clouds and some distress ink Chipped Sapphire. Love how this color works for the clouds in this theme.

After that I used a die from last year. It’s a planner die, but it combines perfectly for this card. There are three planner dies from last year in the Halloween collection. The text Halloween above the witch is also from a Halloween planner die.

With al these dies you can create a whole scene. I added some pumpkins in the front and the spooky house in the background.

At last I backed the scenery with some green and black cardstock to finish of the card.

Hopefully you like this card as much as I do.

See you next time!

Greetings Alice

Adding a Subtle Sparkle to Your Image

September 7, 2022

Hello, Marla here with a quick Christmas card. Christmas creeps up on me every year, so I am bound and determined to get a good jump on my cards this year. I kept my card very subtle today with cool toned watercolors. I started off in one direction but changed my mind on the design midway through. Do you ever do that? Let’s jump into the card.

As I mentioned I kept this card pretty simple. I stamped my image from the Beautiful Blooms “Noel” stamp set onto watercolor cardstock with clear embossing ink. I used the same ink to stamp my sentiment and then add Brutus Monroe’s “Silver Sparkle” embossing powder and heat set. The secret ingredient in this embossing powder is the addition of glitter. The addition of glitter really steps up the end result and adds a wow factor that is difficult to photograph.

I used several types of watercolors to color the image. I began with my metallic Finetec watercolors. As you can see, as it dried it was pretty light in color. To add depth, I used my Karin markers and added more intense greens and teals to the leaves for deeper tones. The background needed color, so I added a beautiful blue from my ECD watercolors around the image. Even with the addition of the blue watercolor, the panel was still looking plain and needed more sparkle. I covered up the image and added water splatters to the background. Before the water could dry, I added more of the sparkle embossing powder over the water splatters and heat set. Did you know that you could emboss with water?

Here’s where my card took a turn. The single layered panel was still a little plain, so I used my Tim Holtz “Deckle Edge” trimmer to cut down my panel. I added “Weathered Wood” Distress Oxide ink around the edges to draw your eye in towards the image. I had cut off the sentiment and needed to add a new one. I pulled a smaller sentiment from my crafty stash and heat embossed it using fine silver embossing powder. Next, I added a navy blue 1/4″ mat behind the watercolored panel. I felt the addition of the navy mat helped the watercolored panel pop a little more. To complete my card, I adhered the layered panels to a red A2 card base.

As I mentioned, the sparkle was hard to capture in a photo, so I am sharing this video so you can see the impact the glitter in the embossing powder has on the card.

Thank you so much for joining me. I have added a link to the Beautiful Blooms “Noel” stamp below for easy shopping. Until next time… Marla

Gnome Sweet Gnome

September 5, 2022

Hello all. Jackie here today with a little Halloween/Autumn card using the mushroom house die set 1796. I have made the wizardy gnome able to stand forward from the house and still be able to fold flat for posting.

Step one:

Die cut and build the wizard as normal then use a white gel pen to add the jagged line, then add the broom from die set – witch 1906 slightly bend the fingers around the boom.

Step two:

Next die cut and build the mushroom house, add extra yellow paper behind the windows to give the effect of a light on.

Step three:

I added pumpkins from die set – hay ride 1909

Step four:

To attach the wizard. Make a small Z shape from strong cardstock then glue one end to the house wherever you want your wizard to stand.

Step five:

Glue the wizard to the Z piece ensuring he stands on the floor when the card is stood upright. You can wiggle him in place whilst the glue is still wet.

This Z fold piece could work for a number of different designs creating a fun 3d look that folds flat. I hope I have inspired you to have a go – Happy crafting Jackie x

Joset Designs Planner Pocket Pages Pop it Ups

Witch way to the candy?!

August 29, 2022

Yeah, I’m already itching a bit, could that be because of the mini-mini monsters or because Halloween is approaching?? Esther has again designed something beautiful, a die set for the Pocket Pages, Pocket Pages Fillers is the name of the set, so cool and handy! With that I made this page for my Halloween album this year. I’m also trying to make it a Day by Day for October, simply because I love Halloween, so much to live up to. Even though the kids are grown up, I still like to decorate the house. Not as extensive as when the children were small, but pumpkins, my witches, the broom and mini horror houses. I love it this time of year! Finally we slowly go to autumn, everything dies down a bit to bloom again next spring. The real horror is not for me but a little itch is allowed.

It looks like an ordinary page in my planner, but nothing could be further from the truth.

When you open the page, a lot of monsters appear that have found a tree full of candies. They lustily snack on it, until it even makes them a little nauseous.

It has become a Pop Up page.

So cozy that Pop-Up in your planner!

This decoration is stuck on the case with double-sided tape. Below is a description of how to create a Pop-Up in the Planner Page Fillers.

Take a strip of design paper of 11 x 22cm and fold it in half to form a card of 11 x 11cm.

Place it with the score line against the cut edge of your chosen die. I used the largest square from the Planner Page Fillers set 1974 from E.C.D. Secure the die with a piece of washi tape and run it through your machine.

You now have a card of 11 x 11cm with a beautiful border!

Place the chosen die from Joset’s General POP-UP set 1389 AGAINST the scoreline of your card.

Just to be safe, I secure the die with Washi tape. Then unfold the card and run through your machine again.

Now you have a nice POP-UP card but it doesn’t fit in your Pocket Page yet.

To do this, cut the bottom edges off the card. Slide the card into your Pocket Page

Fold the Pop-Up together as it will be and secure the cut edges to the Pocket Page with washi tape.

Now the fun starts!!! Dressing up your Pop-Up.

So get started quickly!

I hope you like this Pop-Up idea in de Pocket Pages and that you get inspired to make your own.

I really love the Pop-Ups!

Have fun with it!

See you next time,

Marjolijn.

Bee-utiful buzy bee

August 24, 2022

Hi everyone, Jackie here today with a monster mash up! I have used all three monster die set’s to create this super Bee-utiful buzy bee card.

Step One:

First create the background using the hexagon stencil and yellow ink, gently ink through the stencil with a sponge dauber leaving a small amount of white around the edges.

Step Two:

Next build the bee. I have listed which die’s you will need but you can change any for what you have in your stash. Ink around the yellow parts with dark yellow ink.

Head – Monster 3

Legs, Arms and Eyes – Monster 1

Wings and Body – Monster 2

Antenna – Party Time

For the bee body, use the largest body die from Monster 2 to draw around and fussy cut out (I did not want the circular pattern embossed onto the piece) use the same die to draw around again this time into black card then trim three bands as shown in the photo.

Step Three:

Die cut the antenna twice then add some glossy accents or clear 3d glue then once dry fix to the bees head.

Step Four:

Die cut a a stitched rectangle and layer onto a top folding A2 card blank using 3d foam pads. Next die cut a gold frame. Lay two hexagon dies one inside the other then secure together with a small piece of washi tape.

Step Five:

Stamp out and white heat emboss the sentiment onto black card then trim down and fix in place on the card front using 3d foam pads, add a few gold gems to finish.

Thank you for stopping by today, I hope you have been inspired to have a go at creating a new creature from these fabulous monster die’s. Until next time happy creating – Jackie x

Beary Halloween

August 23, 2022

Hello everyone, Alice here! Glad to be back here again. For today’s blog post I decided to create a fun Halloween card as it is one of my favorite themes. I decided to use the very cure bear die from Joset in combination with the witch and some other fun dies. Let me show you how I created this card.

First I made a spooky background using distress ink Chipped Sapphire in combination with a mask stencil. I used the white soft finish cardstock for this.

After I made some spiderwebs for the background. This is an older die (1706). But I love to use it for this Halloween theme card. Do you like this theme also as much as I do?

When I was ready with the background I made the little bear and the witch. The bear is playing hide and seek in the pumpkin. The witch is looking after him!

The iron fence on the background I made from silver paper. Love how it turned out! Can’t wait to make another project with the Halloween dies. Hope you like this theme as much as I do.

Hoop to see you next time!

Greetings Alice
